One CLI. Your machine.
Run the core CLI directly from your laptop or a CI environment. It connects to your existing machines without requiring a central manager.
korta.Get started ↗Korta is a lightweight, agentless server configuration tool written in Go. Describe your Linux servers in Markdown, review a plan, and apply it over SSH.
Run the CLI from your own machine to configure servers you control. No software agent needs to be installed on your hosts.
Korta is a Go-based command-line tool for managing the configuration of Linux servers. You describe the state you want in Markdown roles, choose your hosts from a Markdown inventory, and use SSH to inspect and apply the changes.

Hosts need SSH access and root or passwordless sudo. Korta uses your SSH configuration, agent, and known hosts in standalone mode.
Roles and inventories are plain files you can keep in Git, share with your team, and review alongside your application code.
A plan reports what Korta would change. Applying a plan asks for confirmation first; custom scripts need extra confirmation.
Combine configuration steps in the order your systems need them. Korta checks each step and changes what differs from the desired state.
Install or remove packages, keep them current, and manage security or system updates with reboot policies.
Create or remove accounts and groups, set shells, and manage authorized SSH keys.
Manage paths, ownership, permissions, content, and templates. Check a new file before keeping it.
Start, stop, enable, restart, or reload services. Manage kernel settings and host firewall ports.
Reuse roles with inventory labels, host facts, and templates. Add custom commands when a built-in step is not enough.
A small, deliberate workflow for infrastructure you already own.
Write a role in Markdown for users, packages, files, services, and more.
See what would change on each selected host before anything runs.
Approve the changes and bring your servers into the state you described.
Keep configuration next to the context that explains it. Review it in Git and use the SSH access you already have.

Korta is for developers, system administrators, consultants, and platform teams that want understandable, repeatable configuration on servers they control.
Keep a few virtual machines consistent without installing agents or standing up a management service.
Review configuration in Git, group hosts, select by labels, and share the same roles across environments.
Carry readable roles and inventories between customer environments while using existing SSH access.
Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, Debian 12 and 13, RHEL, Rocky Linux and AlmaLinux 8 to 10, and CentOS Stream 9 and 10.
Read the requirements ↗When your team needs shared operations, Korta Enterprise adds a self-hosted manager and web console, role approvals, an audit log, encrypted vault, and deployment workflows. The same Korta CLI and Markdown roles work with the manager.
Manage PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, Node.js and Next.js applications, or provision an EC2 instance and configure it with a role. Open an interactive SSH terminal for an instance directly from the web console.
